Why SSES

Independent assessment can still feel personal.

SSES is deliberately specialist, with its owners bringing strong experience across the sectors in which we operate. Providers, employers and apprentices benefit from the reassurance of a controlled, consistent assessment process, alongside the continuity and personal approach of a small, experienced team.

The SSES values

Four values.
One consistent experience.

These values shape how SSES communicates, organises assessment and protects the integrity of every decision.

S

Support

Useful guidance, continuity and a calm, well-organised experience.

S

Skilled

Experienced people with the competence to understand the sector and role.

E

Excellence

Careful standards, professional communication and close attention to detail.

S

Success

A fair opportunity for every apprentice to demonstrate occupational competence.

Our approach

Personal in approach. Independent in judgement.

The relationship around assessment can be supportive and well organised while every assessment decision remains impartial and evidence-based.

01

Familiar relationships

A consistent team learns how your organisation works, so routine conversations do not begin from zero.

02

Sector knowledge

Occupational understanding informs clearer communication and credible assessment delivery.

03

Clear access

Contact real people, ask practical questions and request information in an accessible format.

04

Responsible delivery

Clear ownership, published policies and controlled information support a dependable relationship.

How the relationship works

Support around the process. Independence within it.

SSES can explain logistics, documentation and the route through assessment. It cannot coach an apprentice to a particular outcome or compromise the integrity of an independent decision.

  • Clear information before registration
  • Practical communication through the agreed process
  • Impartial assessment against the applicable plan
  • Published routes for complaints, appeals and adjustments

Focusing on the end is the key to success.
